JULIE AND THE PHANTOMS Officially A Netflix One-and-Done Says Kenny Ortega.
Kenny Ortega thanked “Fantoms “all over the world today for their love and support this past year but Netflix has decided not to pick up Julie and the Phantoms for another season.
Our [Jule and the Phantoms] family want to send our love and endless thanks to our Fantoms all over the world for the tremendous outpouring of love and support you have shown us since our premier. We learned this week that Netflix will not be picking us up for another season. Although our hearts are saddened, we move on with such pride for what we accomplished as a team and the family we built while creating Julie. We hope you will continue to follow us as we move forward with our work and careers. Happy Holidays to you all. Wishing you good health, love and #perfectharmony in all you pursue! Julie and the Phantoms filmed in Vancouver in the Fall of 2019 with the band performing in downtown’s legendary Commodore Ballroom.
The opening scene of the series featured downtown Vancouver’s historic Orpheum Theatre. & the Commodore.
Adapted from the Brazilian Julie e os Fantasmas, teen Julie helps the Phantoms — a trio of ghostly guys — become the band they were never able to be. Julie and the Phantoms streamed September 10th, 2020 on Netflix.

Madison Reyes is set as frontwoman of Julie and the Phantoms. She plays Julie, a high schooler who lost her passion for music after her mom died last year. But when the ghosts of three dreamy musicians (Charlie Gillespie, Jeremy Shada, Owen Patrick Joyner) from 1995 suddenly appear in her mom’s old music studio, Julie feels her own inner spirit beginning to reawaken, and she’s inspired to start singing and writing songs again. As their friendship with Julie grows, the boys convince her to create a new band together: Julie and the Phantoms.
