THE FLASH OG Jesse L. Martin Won’t Be A Regular in Season 9. Cast as Lead in NBC Pilot.

OG Jesse L. Martin won’t be a series regular on season 9 of The Flash. He’s been cast as the lead of NBC pilot The Irrational filming in Vancouver this May.

Is this a goodbye to Barry Allen’s foster father and father-in-law Joe West? Maybe not.

Martin could recur on season 9 for up to five episodes, according to Deadline: Hollywood.

There is talk that season 9 will be an abbreviated final season for The Flash, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

After Martin wraps filming season 8 this month, he’ll move on to star in NBC pilot The Irrational from La Brea showrunner Arika Lisanne Mittman.

Alec Mercer (Jesse L Martin). a world-renowned professor of behavioral science, lends his expertise to an array of high-stakes cases involving governments, law enforcement, and corporations with his unique and unexpected approach to understanding human behavior. However, he meets his match in a female domestic terror suspect who turns his world upside down.

The investigative thriller is adapted from Dan Ariely’s book Predictably Irrational.
