Kurt & Wyatt Russell In Vancouver This Summer & Fall to Film Apple TV+’s GODZILLA & THE TITANS

Father-and-son Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell are filming Apple TV+’s untitled Monsterverse series in Vancouver this summer and Fall.

Working titles: Godzilla & the Titans, Monarch, Hourglass.

Kurt Russell (and Goldie Hawn) was last in B.C. filming Netflix’s Christmas Chronicles 2 in the Fall of 2019 and Wyatt Russell spent last summer and Fall shooting FX’s Under the Banner of Heaven in Alberta.

An original live-action series from Legendary’s Monsterverse franchise. Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, the series explores one family’s journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.

Filming dates: June 27 2022 – December 15 2022.

Director of first two episodes: WandaVision’s Matt Shakman.

Cast: Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett, Elisa Lasowski

Anna Sawai (Pachinko) is former schoolteacher and G-Day survivor Cate who travels to Japan where she uncovers a family secret.

Ren Watabe is Kentario who embarks on a quest to learn more about his mysterious father.

Kiersey Clemons (Transparent) is American ex-pat May,

Joe Tippett (Mare of Easttown) is Tim, an office drone at secret organization Monarch who dreams of being a secret agent.

Elisa Lasowski is expert operative Duvall at Monarch, who helps guide her less field-oriented colleague Tim.

Legendary’s Monsterverse projects include blockbuster movies like Godzilla , which filmed in metro Vancouver with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe and Bryan Cranston.

And Kong: Skull Island; Godzilla: King of Monsters; Godzilla vs. Kong as well as upcoming Netflix anime series Skull Island.

Filming in Vancouver:

The Monsterverse series set up a “refugee camp” on an empty lot near the north end of the Granville Bridge in downtown Vancouver, for a July 11th shoot.

There will be shoots in Tokyo and Hawaii, as well.
