Straight Man is is a mid-life crisis tale set at Railton College, told in the first person by William Henry Devereaux, Jr. (Bob Odenkirk), the unlikely chairman of the English department in a badly underfunded college in the Pennsylvania rust belt

Bob Odenkirk plays William Henry Devereaux, Jr..
Mireille Enos plays Hank’s wife Lily Devereaux, the vice-principal of a local high in rural Pennsylvania.
Enos spent two seasons filming AMC’s The Killing in Metro Vancouver.
Olivia Scott Welch plays Hank and Lily’s daughter Julie, an only child who didn’t graduate from college, doesn’t have a job that pays her enough to live on but is accustomed to her parents’ lifestyle.
Diedrich Bader plays philosophy professor Tony Conigula, Hank’s closest friend. and a charming single guy.
Sara Amini plays Meg Quigley, an adjunct professor seeking tenure at Railton, where her alchoholic mother teaches as well. She works shifts at the local bar.
Cedric Yarbrough plays poetry professor Paul Rourke, who drives a red Camara and is on his third or fourth marriage.
Suzanne Cryer plays poetry professor Gracie DuBois.
