Lin Manuel Miranda is Messenger God Hermes on Disney+’s PERCY JACKSON Series Filming in Vancouver
Hamilton legend Lin Manuel Miranda is playing Messenger God Hermes on Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians series filming in metro Vancouver.
Lin Manuel Miranda and his son are reportedly big fans of the Percy Jackson books. His Messenger God Hermes is a charming, charismatic trickster as he looks out for travellers and thieves, but his relationship with his son Luke (Charlie Bushnell) is strained and he’s hesitant to help Percy Jackson and his friends on their quest.
Nathan Fillion played Hermes as a courier in the movie Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters which filmed in metro Vancouver, too.
Based on Rick Riordan’s best-selling book series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians tells the story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), who’s just coming to terms with his newfound divine powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning bolt. With help from his friends Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), Percy must embark on an adventure of a lifetime to find it and restore order to Olympus.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians teaser featured Percy Jackson warning other Half-Bloods as he walks through the Camp Half-Blood set that production built in Aldergrove, east of Vancouver.
Look I didn’t want to be a Half-Blood. Being a Half-Blood is dangerous. It’s scary. Most of the time it gets you killed. If you think you might be one of us my advice is turn away while you still can. Believe whatever lie your Mom or Dad told you about your birth. Try to live a normal life. — Percy Jackson.
Because once you know what you are they’ll sense it too and they’ll come for you. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. — Percy Jackson.
Camp Half-Blood is the camp where the young demigods train in Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series of books.
Walker Scobell wore a Camp Half-Blood t-shirt when he got the news of his casting in January.
