Atom Egoyan’s THE SEVEN VEILS With Amanda Seyfried Starts Filming in Toronto

Atom Egoyan’s next movie The Seven Veils, starring Amanda Seyfried as a tortured theatre director, starts filming in Toronto.

Earnest theatre director Jeanine (Amanda Seyfried) has been given the task of remounting her former mentor’s most famous work, the opera Salome. Haunted by dark and disturbing memories from her past, Jeanine allows her repressed trauma to color the present as she re-enters the opera world after so many years away.

Working title: The Enchanted.

Toronto filming dates: February 13 2023 – March 12 2023.

I first produced Salome for the Canadian Opera Company almost thirty years ago and have been haunted by its themes.
