Raunchy Comedy JOY RIDE With Ashley Park Gets SXSW Premiere & in Theatres July 7th

We’re fully leaning into a side of Asian-ness the world doesn’t usually get to see… the messy, R-rated, thirsty AF side. — Director Adele Lim.

Raunchy all-Asian-female comedy Joy Ride, starring Ashley Park, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Hsu and Sabrina Wu, gets its World Premiere at SXSW Festival on March 17th and will be in theatres on July 7th.

Joy Ride filmed in B.C. under the working title JFC (Joy F**k Club) in the Fall of 2021.

Four unlikely friends embark on a once-in-a-lifetime international adventure.

Joy Ride follows Audrey (Emily in Paris’ s Ashley Park), whose business trip to Asia goes sideways when her chances of closing a big deal suddenly hinge on her tracking down her birth mother.

To do so, she enlists the aid of her irreverent, hot mess, childhood best friend Lola (Sherry Cola); her college friend turned Chinese soap star Kat (Everything Everywhere All at Once Oscar nominee Stephanie Hsu); and Lola’s eccentric cousin Deadeye (comedian Sabrina Wu).

Their no-holds-barred, epic experience becomes a journey of bonding, friendship, belonging, and wild debauchery that reveals the universal truth of what it means to know and love who you are.
