Hollywood Writers Authorize Strike as Shutdown Looms

Hollywood writers have authorized a strike as a production shutdown looms.

The Writers Guild of America (WGA) has been talks with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) for weeks without reaching a deal.

The 8 negotiating members of the American Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) are Netflix, Disney-ABC, NBC Universal, Paramount-CBS, Warner Bros Discovery, Amazon, Apple and Sony. 

The current contract expires May 1st.
