Thriller IN COLD LIGHT With Maika Monroe & Troy Kotsur Filming in Alberta & Quebec
Maika Monroe and Oscar-winning actor Troy Kotsur (CODA) are filming crime thriller In Cold Light in Alberta and Quebec this summer, helmed by French Canadian director Maxime Giroux.
Set in Calgary, the city crackles with the energy of the Stampede, a massive rodeo sweeping through the city, bringing onto the streets, as night falls, drunken revealers, addicts and drug dealers.
Fresh out of prison, reformed drug dealer Ava (Maika Monroe)’s attempt to go straight is obliterated when her twin Tom is murdered by a corrupt police officer Bob.
Ava – a witness to the shooting – is forced to run for her life and seek to protect her family and herself, clinging to the hope that somehow, even in her darkest moments, she will find redemption.
In Cold Light has already shot for a few days south of Edmonton in Ponoka, home of the Ponoka Stampede, Canada’s largest seven-day professional rodeo.
Filming in Calgary begins this Friday for two or three weeks.
And then production moves to Quebec for two weeks of shooting in August.
