Alberta Named Outstanding Film Commission for THE LAST OF US Locations

Location. Location. Location. Hit HBO series The Last of Us used spectacular Alberta locations and VFX to create its dystopian world.

At the 10th annual Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) Awards., The Last of Us location managers Jason Nolan and Mohammad Qazzaz won the award for Outstanding Locations in a Contemporary Series; and Calgary Economic Development and the Alberta Film Commission won for Outstanding Film Commission.

What’s The Last of Us about?:

The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed by a fungal pandemic. Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle 14-year-old Ellie (Bella Ramsey) out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.
