ARROW Star Stephen Amell’s Anti-Strike Comments About SAG-AFTRA Blow Up
At GalaxyCon on the weekend, Arrow star Stephen Amell’ called the strike by his union SAG-AFTRA a “reductive negotiating tactic” and “incredibly frustrating”, in response to a question from a fan.
I support my union, I do, and I stand with them, but I do not support striking, I don’t I think it is a reductive negotiating tactic, and I find the entire thing incredibly frustrating. And I think the thinking as it pertains to shows like the show that I’m on [Heels], that premiered last night, I think it’s myopic. — Stephen Amell.
After those comments blew up, Amell attempted to clarify that he stands by his union but dislikes striking and wants the guild and the AMPTP to get back to the table and negotiate.
Writers Guild of America strike captain Neil McNeil expressed his own thoughts about Stephen Amell on a picket sign, paraphrasing the actor’s famous Green Arrow’ line to villains: You have failed this city.
