Canadian Legend Catherine O’Hara Cast on THE LAST OF US Season 2 Filming in B.C.

Canadian legend Catherine O’Hara confirmed on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she was in talks for a role on season 2 of HBO’s smash hit The Last of Us filming in B.C.

“My son is a set dresser on the show.,” O’Hara told Cohen on the WWHL After Show..

The Emmy-winning Schitt’s Creek actor is expected to play a new character called “Gail”, according to reports earlier this week.

HBO made the casting official today but did not disclose the role.

Catherine O’Hara joins Pedro Pascal’s Joel, Bella Ramsey’s Ellie, Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby, Young Mazino’s Jesse and Isabela Merced’s Dina in the video game adaption. 

The Last of Us takes place 20 years after modern civilization has been destroyed by a fungal pandemic. Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle teen Ellie (Bella Ramsey) out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

Season one left us with Joel and Ellie heading back to Jackson, Wyoming, a thriving community of survivors from the fungal pandemic.

Production moved from Alberta to British Columbia for season 2 and there is a massive private western town set under construction at Britannia on the Sea to Sky Highway.

Season 2 of The Last of Us is expected to premiere in 2025.
