Streaming phenom Suits has a legal drama spinoff in the works — Suits: L.A. — from the series creator Aaron Korsh.
Like the original Suits, which was set in New York but filmed all nine seasons in Toronto, Suits: L.A. is set in Los Angeles but will film the NBC pilot in Vancouver this March/April.
If picked up, Suits: L.A. would be a Suits universe series like the CSI and NCIS franchises which feature new characters in new loations.

Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.
Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.

Suits centred on Manhattan litigator Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) who, impressed by university expellee Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams)’s photographic memory and skills, brings him to the prestigious law firm he is a partner at.
The original Suits ended four years ago with its 2019 series finale on the USA Network but found new life after Netflix acquired the rights to eight of the nine seasons and started streaming them late last June. Suits topped the Nielsen chart for 12 consecutive weeks last year thanks to the power of Netflix — ultimately amassing 57.7 billion viewing minutes in 2023.
