Who’s coming back to help us say goodbye to Freddie Highmore’s brilliant, autistic surgeon Dr. Shaun Murphy in The Good Doctor series finale, which begins shooting this March in Vancouver and airs this May on ABC?
The Good Doctor series follows Dr. Shaun Murphy, a young doctor with autism and Savant syndrome who’s recruited into the surgical unit of the prestigious San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital and over the course of seven seasons battles many obstacles to become a valued colleague, teacher, husband and father.

Who’s back for the series finale?
OG surgical resident Dr. Claire Browne, played by Antonia Thomas, returns for the series finale (and one other season 7 episode), reports TVLine.
Dr. Danny Perez played by Brandon Larracuente will be back for one episode, too.
Who’s directing the series finale?
It looks like creator and co-showrunner David Shore will direct the series finale.
