The Smashing Machine is a drama based on the story of Mark Kerr, the legendary MMA fighter from the no-holds-barred era of the UFC at the peak of his career. He struggles with addiction, winning, love and friendship in the year 2000.

The big A24 biopic, directed by Benny Safdie, has been in production for a few weeks and been spotted at Lions MMA gym and now the service road between Rogers Arena and BC Place.
The Rock as Mark Kerr and Emily Blunt as Dawn Staples.
Emily Blunt co-stars as Dawn Staples, the new wife to the MMA champion. While trying to set up a life together, Dawn struggles to find her place within his chaotic and contradictory world.
