Jensen Ackles & Melissa Roxburgh Will Return in TRACKER Season 2

Shaw family reunion?

Justin Hartley’s screen siblings Jensen Ackles and Melissa Roxburgh will be back on his hit CBS series Tracker, which starts filming season 2 in Vancouver on Tuesday.

Tracker follows Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley), a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a reward seeker, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries while contending with his own fractured family.

Colter re-connected with his older brother Russell, an ex-military contractor played by Supernatural and The Boys star Jensen Ackles, in the second-to-last episode of season one.

Wine o’clock: Smallville buddies Jensen Ackles & Justin Hartley reunite on a downtown Vancouver balcony.

For 20 years , Colter had believed that Russell caused their father’s death but Russell convinced him someone else was responsible. Russell: ” I don’t know if he fell, or if somebody else pushed him, but I do know that there was somebody else in those woods that night. Dad had enemies…. He was a crazy son of a bitch.”

Season one ended with Colter discovering that his college prof sister Dory, played by Manifest’s Melissa Roxburgh, had held back information about their father’s death.

Both will be back in season 2: Jensen Ackles for more than one episode and Melissa Roxburgh for at least one episode.

“We got him. {Jensen Ackles}’s coming back. We’re having fun with that. It’s a great story” Justin Hartley revealed at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour today.

“We’ll unpeel some more stuff with his sister [Melissa Roxburgh],” showrunner Elwood Reid, said at the press tour.

Added: Jensen Ackles and Melissa Roxburgh will “be coming in and out of the show. If we can drop a few bombs into Colter’s life with those characters and then see how he wrestles with those, then we’ll earn them coming back,” Reid told TV Insider.

Added: “The evidence we have in the show right now is his sister definitely has a point of view about what he should do, which is just forget about it and leave it. And then you look at Jensen’s character, Russell; he seems to have sort of put it all away in a box in some way and kind of just dealt with it. But you’ll learn in Episode 2, he’s got very different memories of something that happened in their past that Colter has no memory of,” Reid told TV Insider.

Both Melissa Roxburgh and Jensen Ackles are in demand: Roxburgh got a starring role on the new NBC series The Hunting Party. as an ex-FBI agent hunting down the most dangerous killers America has ever seen and Ackles landed the lead in the new Prime Video thriller Countdown as an LAPD officer who joins a secret task force of agents to investigate a murder.

It helps with scheduling conflicts that The Hunting Party films in Vancouver, too.
