BC-Filmed AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER Racked Up 71 Million Views on Netflix

BC-filmed Netflix live-action adaption Avatar: The Last Airbender is a global hit with 71 million views in the first half of 2024 –making it the #5 English-language show on Netflix’s latest What We Watched report.

Season 2 of Avatar: The Last Airbender is in pre-production in Vancouver.

The plan is to shoot season 2 and season 3 closely together before the young cast ages out of their characters.

Three seasons to conclude the Netflix saga mirrors the three-season run of the beloved Nickelodeon anime series.

Avatar: The Last Airbender: Aang (Gordon Cormier) and his friends Katara (Kiawentiio) and Sokka (Ian Ousley) must save the world by defeating Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim) and ending the destructive war with the Fire Nation.

The four nations – Air, Water, Earth, Fire – unite “to bring The Legend of Aang to its proper conclusion”.

Main cast:

Katara (Kiawentilia), Aang (Gordon Cormier). Sokka (Ian Ousley).

Fire Nation’s Prince Zuko (Dallas Liu) and Uncle Iroh (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee).

Fire Nation’s Princess Azula (Elizabeth Yu).

Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim).

New character: Earthbender Toph (Miya Cech).

TOPH is sassy, confident and unfiltered. For most of her life, her strength and formidable earth bending skills have been suppressed, but now on the run as the Avatar’s earth bending master she is uninhibited to become the fierce warrior she believes she is inside.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2:

Working title: Diner Bear.

Vancouver filming dates: October 07 2024 – March 21 2025.

Showrunners: Christine Boylan, Jabbar Raisani (replacing Albert Kim who’s moving on to Percy Jackson and an overall Disney deal).
