It looks like the McLean Mill National Historic Site in Port Alberni plays home to a “hostile, off-the-grid community” for thrillers One Mile and its sequel One More Mile starring Ryan Phillippe and Amélie Hoeferle.
When an estranged father (Ryan Phillippe) and daughter (Amélie Hoeferle) go off for college tours, they get more than they bargained for when they get lost and stumble across a hostile, off-the-grid community.

The two movies are filming back-to-back in Port Alberni, Qualicum Beach, Parksville and Victoria on Vancouver Island.
The McLean Mill Historic Site is closed to the public until October 26th.
“We looked at a few sites in Vancouver but couldn’t find anything. There’s nothing else [like McLean Mill]… It’s unbelievably cinematic — we could never build this on set.” — Producer Michael Lohmann told the Alberni Valley News.
