MrBeast’s BEAST GAMES Drops on Prime: Filmed in Toronto

1,000 people fight for $5 million in Toronto.

The world’s biggest YouTuber MrBeast brought his new Prime Video reality competition series Beast Games, with 1000 contestants and a $5 million prize, to Toronto’s Downsview Park Studios last summer.

MrBeast, aka Jimmy Donaldson, has almost 340 million subscribers on his main channel. The American started posting on YouTube in 2012 at age 13 and went viral in 2017 with a video of him counting to 100,000. His high production videos of ever more elaborate challenges and giveaways as well as his business spinoffs has made him a mogul at age 26 — with an estimated net worth of $500 million.

Before filming started in Toronto, there was chaos at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, where 2,000 contestants competed to advance to the main show.

The 2,000 contestants later filed a class action lawsuit, alleging unsafe, unfair and abusive working conditions including limited food and medical care, sleep deprivation, misogyny and sexism on set, and no pay.
