Wild Cards follows the unlikely duo of a by-the-book, sardonic cop Cole Ellis (Giacomo Gianniotti) and a spirited, clever con woman Max Mitchell (Vanessa Morgan). They are partnered together, and each uses their unique skills to solve crimes. For Ellis, that means hard-boiled shoe leather police work; for Max, it means accents, disguises, schemes and generally befriending everyone in sight, while driving Ellis absolutely nuts.
Season one’s cliffhanger found the unlikely duo in a bad place: with Ellis was about to arrest Max for her $33 million jewel heist when she showed up at his houseboat to tell him she’d discovered who murdered his brother.
Season 2 has higher stakes: for the unlikely duo in the cases they solve, a search for a killer and their feelings for each other, but also features disguises, surprising twists and Ellis’s cat Marc.
New character:
Martin Sheen, who played the ideal liberal US President for seven seasons on The West Wing, joined season 2 as “the greatest con man of all time” John Edwards with connections to Max and her father George (Jason Priestley).
Season 2 guest-stars include: Ally Sheedy, The 100’s Marie Avgeropoulos as Nadia Evans, a street racing expert and fiercely protective mom. , Katie Findlay as Max’s best friend and former partner-in-crime, Maddy and WWE NXT North American Champion Tony D’Angelo.
