Reacher comes to the aid of DEA boss Susan Duffy, who has placed one of her CIs in jeopardy at a heavily-guarded Maine mansion that is part of a vast criminal enterprise. Reacher goes undercover to rescue the CI and confronts a haunting foe from his past.
Escarpment House in Caledon, Ontario, north of Toronto, played the main location for the Maine estate, minus the guard house, gate, fence and ocean front.

Newfoundland’s coastline played the rugged, rocky shore of the Maine estate.
There was scouting for months and helicopter trips up the entire east coast of the United States and Canada. We ended up having to cobble together that house [in Caledon] with Newfoundland and coastlines from all over the world, and composite together multiple locations — Alan Ritchson to TVLine.
But not for the sequence of Reacher escaping the heavily guarded house at night by diving off the rocks and swimming through dangerous waves to meet DEA Agent Susan Duffy. That was shot mostly in a gigantic indoor pool with a wave maker on a Toronto soundstage.
