CBS has picked up the Montreal-shot workplace comedy pilot DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) to series, starring Harriet Dyer and Tim Meadows.
DMV is a workplace comedy set at the place everyone dreads going most: the DMV. Our quirky and lovable characters are making minimum wage, doing a thankless job where customers are annoyed before they even walk in the door. Good thing they have each other.
Characters:
Colin from Accounts’ Harriet Dyer as Collette, the driving examiner with a huge heart, who takes the scared and nervous people because she’s calming and patient and genuinely roots for them to pass.
Tim Meadows as former high school English teacher Gregg, the driving examiner who lies to get through the driving tests and day, as quickly as possible. Gregg would love nothing more than to retire.
Saturday Night Live’s Molly Kearney as Barbara, the boss of this branch who considers herself one of the gang, even though “the gang” does not.
Alex Tarrant as Noa, a star surfer who seems destined for much greater things than working at the DMV.
Tony Cavalero as Vic, who worked as a bouncer, security ground, head cook and has found his true calling as a driving examiner. He takes the entitled ones who deserve to be taken down a notch.
Gigi Zumbado as Ceci, a scrappy, tough, and sassy, counter representative who has no time for anyone’s nonsense.
Will the series film in Montreal?
