Season 3 of alien Invasion series Invasion premieres on Apple TV+ with a welcome back ceremony for Shamier Anderson’s Trevante Cole filmed at Simon Fraser University.
Trevante returns to an Earth that’s different than the one he left two years ago.
In Invasion, Earth is visited by an alien species that threatens humanity’s existence. Events unfold in real time through the eyes of ordinary people across the globe as they struggle to make sense of the chaos unraveling around them.
The third season brings all of the characters together to work as a team instead of being scattered around the world, so it made sense to film it in one location — Vancouver.
Production started in February 2024 and wrapped in September 2024
Invasion follows an alien invasion through different perspectives around the world. In season three, those perspectives collide for the first time, as the series’ main characters are brought together to work as a team on a critical mission to infiltrate the alien mothership.
The ultimate apex aliens have finally emerged, rapidly spreading their deadly tendrils across the planet. It will take all heroes working together, using their experience and expertise, to save the species. New relationships are formed, old relationships are challenged and even shattered, as an international cast of characters must become a team before it’s too late.

Sam Neill’s Sheriff John Bell Tyson was killed off in the series premiere. Shamier Anderson’s Trevante Cole is a soldier stationed in Afghanistan. Golshifteh Farahani ‘s Aneesha Malik is a Syrian immigrant, wife and mother living in Long Island. Shioli Kutsuna’s Mitsuki is a member of mission control in Japan’s space program. India Brown’s Jamila Huston. Shane Zara’s Nikhil Kapur. Enver Gjokaj,’s Clark Evans. Billy Barratt’s Caspar Morrow is a teen boy from the UK who seemingly died at the end of season 2.
Erika Alexander joined the cast in season 3.
Season 2 saw the aliens escalating their attacks in an all-out war.
I saw . . .season 3 like the back half of the second act of a movie where now the action is really accelerated and the challenges are massive and seem insurmountable. Then if, God willing, we were to have a fourth season, that’s where, for me, it would be the third act of just final conflict and everything erupting, and then resolving. So there was a build, and it did mimic in many ways the structure of a movie. — Simon Kinberg.
