The popular Scrubs revival, starring Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke and Donald Faison, is back at work in Vancouver on season 2 of production.

JD and Turk scrub back in together — medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.

What happened in season one?
J.D. (Zach Braff), divorced from Elliott (Sarah Chalke) after having two kids, returns to Sacred Heart where Elliot, Turk (Donald Faison) and Carla (Judy Reyes) still work.
J.D. and Turk fall right back into their bromance, re-enacting their signature “Eaaaaaagle!” move in the Sacred Heart halls .
Before collapsing on the floor in pain.
They’re middle-aged men now.
And it’s awkward between the former spouses.
But after JD replaces Dr. Perry Cox (John C. McGinley) as Chief of Medicine it’s up to JD, Turk and Elliot to work together to lead and train the next generation of doctors at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Who else is back for season 2?
Ava Bunn, who plays intern Sam Tosh, is promoted to a series regular in season 2.
The other interns — Jacob Dudman as Asher Green, David Gridley as Blake Lewis, Layla Mohammadi as Amara Hadi and Amanda Morrow as Dashana Trainor– return as recurring characters in season 2.
OG characters Judy Reyes as Carla and John C. McGinley as Dr. Perry Cox will recur in season 2 as much as they can.. Both actors are committed to other series which film in L.A.
Other OG characters like Neil Flynn as the Janitor and Robert Maschio as Dr. Todd “The Todd” Quinlan. will recur. Plus Christa Miller as Jordan Sullivan (Dr. Cox’s ex-wife) will guest star.
Vanessa Bayer as hospital HR rep Sibby and Michael James Scott as Nurse Dubois are back as recurring characters in season 2.
And Rachel Bilson will return as Charlie, a potential love interest for JD.
How popular was season one of the revival?
The Scrubs revival ranked #39 of the 100 most-watched shows of 2025-26, with an average 8.7 million views per episode across all platforms in the U.S
But like The Rookie, the revivval is a surprise hit with Gen Z, ranking as the #18 show in the 18-49 demo.

Crew built the 30,000-square-foot replica at Whites Studios Copperwood in Richmond.
Scrubs originally ran on NBC for seven seasons from 2001 to 2008, and then moved to ABC for two more seasons, from 2009 to 2010.
