SCRUBS Revival in Production in Vancouver With Zach Braff in Director’s Chair

Scrubs revival is in production in Vancouver with Zach Braff starring as Dr. JD Dorian and directing the opening episode in Vancouver.

Scrubs cast reunited for a table read ahead of the start of production today.

The revival follows Dr. JD Dorian (Zach Braff) and Dr. Christopher Turk (Donald Faison), who scrub in together for the first time in a long time- medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.

Fifteen years on, Drs. John Dorian, Christopher Turk and Elliot Reid and Nurse Espinosa are scrubbing back in at Sacred Heart Hospital for the revival of the medical dramedy.

So is Judy Reeves as Nurse Carla Espinosa.

Judy Reyes co-starred in the  first eight seasons of Scrubs as Nurse Espinosa. She married Turk at the end of Season 3. and they are now parents to four teenagers. Reyes said on her Instagram that her character is still working as a nurse in the revival and that “a good chunk of the team is still working together”

John C. McGinley returned for the revival as Dr. Perry Cox.

And Robert Maschio as Dr. Todd ‘The Todd’ Quinlan and Phil Lewis as “Crazy” Hooch will guest star.

Vanessa Bayer as Sibby, who runs a wellness program for Sacred Heart’s faculty and staff, and Joel Kim Booster as attending physician Dr. Eric Park will recur.

The new class of interns includes Ava Bunn as Serena, Jacob Dudman as Asher, David Gridley as Blake, Layla Mohammadi as Amara, and Amanda Morrow as Dashana.

Scrubs originally ran on NBC for seven seasons from 2001 to 2008, and then moved to ABC for two more seasons, from 2009 to 2010.
