
Team Hearties from When Calls the Heart won the REEL Thanks Challenge, the annual two-week Thanksgiving fundraising event by the BC film and television industry for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
Every Year After, Fire Country, Animal Control and Carrie, round out the top five.

The REEL Thanks Challenge raised $216, 105 in total.
15 Teams:
The Altruists; Animal Control; Carrie; Easton Prep, Every Year After, Fire Country; Mink Golden aka Percy Jackson and the Olympians; October; Rock the Boat aka Camp Rock 3; School Spirits; Scrubs; Trinity; Watson; When Calls the Heart; Wild Cards.
The amount of money raised by each Team is “greatly amplified” by sponsors.
$2+million has been raised over the years to help the needy in the Greater Vancouver area.
This was the 12th year for the REEL Thanks Challenge,
Past Winners:
Team Hearties from Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart won the Challenge in 2024, raising over $55,000.
There was no REEL Thanks Challenge in 2023 due to Hollywood’s duel strikes which shut down several productions.
Team Spiderwick Chronics won the Reel Thanksgiving Challenge in 2022, raising over $103,000 in two weeks — a new record.
Team Hearties from Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart won the Challenge in 2021, raising over $42,000.
Team Mysterious Benedict Society won the Challenge in 2020, raising over $65,000.
Team Supernatural won the Challenge in 2019, raising $47,450. It also won the social media challenge thanks to some viral videos from its stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki & Misha Collins and crew.

Team Supernatural won the Challenge in 2018 too, raising $40,592.
