The Night Agent, starring Gabriel Basso as low-level FBI agent Peter Sutherland who answered a call in the White House and stopped an Oval Office conspiracy, became a massive hit on Netflix when it launched in 2023.
Vancouver played Washington, DC in season one which is still on the global streamer’s Most Popular Shows List at #9 with almost 100 million views.
And with great success came a bigger budget and more expensive filming locations as Peter Sutherland joined the clandestine Night Action organization in New York City.
Production moved from Vancouver to New York City with on-location shooting in Thailand and Washington D.C. in season 2 and on-location shooting in Türkiye, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Washington, DC in season 3.
Now production is moving to Los Angeles for season 4 with a $31.6 million tax credit from the latest tranche of California’s expanded US$750 million Film & Television Tax Credit Program,
