SHOOT: ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND’s Peter Gadiot & Sophie Lowe in Steveston

In Once Upon a Time in Wonderland’s Fall Finale, the Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha) made a wish to end Alice (Sophie Lowe)’s suffering and unexpectedly took Cyrus (Peter Gadiot)’s place as the Genie trapped in a bottle. Poor Will.

Does this explain why true loves Cyrus (Gadiot) and Alice (Lowe) travel to Storybrooke, filmed in Steveston before Christmas? Are they searching for Will? Wonderland crew shot the reunited pair emerging from broken pavement (a portal?) in Storybrooke and almost being hit by two cars at the Main Street intersection. Something similar happened when Anton the Giant (Jorge Garcia) arrived in town so maybe it’s time for this Maine burg to install a flashing pedestrian crosswalk to prevent near-fatal fairy-tale-character accidents.

Rehearsals in warm coats:

Dangerous drivers or not, at least Storybrooke still  exists in the Once Upon a Time spinoff world. And it was fun to see Wonderland back in Storybrooke where it began instead of shooting on closed sets with giant mushrooms in Burnaby parks.

Related: The Knave of Hearts (Michael Socha) in Steveston as Storybrooke.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland wrapped filming of its first season this week as ABC acknowledged its mistake in not launching it this Winter on Sunday nights as originally planned. Here’s hoping it’s not too late for this charming Wonderland cast to have a second season.
