Where in the world is Disney’s $200-million-plus Tomorrowland after wrapping five months of filming in Vancouver earlier this month. Director Brad Bird tweeted from Paris en route to Spain. And star George Clooney was photographed filming Tomorrowland in Valencia, Spain last week, which is a bit galling since we spotted Clooney omly once on set here. But that’s the way of a mainly in-studio movie.
Now MousePlanet.com reports that Tomorrowland is scheduled to shoot at Disneyland’s “it’s a small world” next week with some 1964 set dressing and extras. For details click on the image.
Back in November, Tomorrowland took some time away from Vancouver to film at Walt Disney World’s Carousel of Progress in Orlando, Florida, with 1964 set dressing and extras as well as shooting a rumoured re-enactment of an Apollo launch at Cape Canaveral. Tomorrowland tells the story of how the technological promise of the 1964 New York World’s Fair developed in an alternate world but not in our own. Young boy-genius inventor (Thomas Robinson) visits this enigmatic place at the fair and meets its mayor (Hugh Laurie). Years later, the now jaded former boy-genius inventor (George Clooney) goes in search of it again, along with an optimistic teen (Britt Robertson) because this alternate world is crossing over into our own and causing havoc.
