Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb started filming today at the real British Museum in London not a soundstage in Burnaby as expected. London resident Ajda Vucicevic shared the “polite” filming notice on Twitter The third installment in this billion-dollar franchise films in London until Monday, February 3rd, and then moves to New York City to shoot in Central Park and the American Natural History Museum on Thursday and Friday, February 6th and 7th, as reported by On Location Vacations (OLV). So filming won’t begin on a Burnaby soundstage until mid-February at the earliest (dates subject to change).
It wouldn’t be a Night at the Museum if exhibits didn’t come to life. Sir Lancelot (Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens) and an Egyptian pharaoh (Sir Ben Kingsley) are two who will be revived by a magic tablet to the consternation of a London night guard (Rebel Wilson). Somehow the old gang –Larry Daley (Ben Stiller), his boss Dr. McPhee (Ricky Gervais), Jedediah (Owen Wilson), Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams) and a recast Nicky Daley (Skyler Gisondo) — end up in this most august of British institutions too.
Ajda Vucicevic hasn’t seen any cast yet at the British Museum but she did see horses, with several more nights of filming to go.
