Update: In Supernatural 9×18 Meta Fiction, Metatron’s second-in-command Gadreel (Tahmoh Penikett) enters Ian’s Herbal Remedies for some supplies. The Winchester brothers later discover Ian’s body.
Supernatural turned Mount Pleasant’s Puff Smoke Shop (selling pipes, bongs & vaporizers) into Ian’s Herbal Remedies for an all-day shoot on Wednesday, February 19th.
The scene: A tall guy in a black hoodie drives up to Ian’s Herbal Remedies, gets out of his car and enters the shop. Camera crews inside Puff and on the opposite side of Main Street shot the scene so his face will be in the frame. Whoever scouted this was smart because normally busy Main Street had almost no morning traffic due to an Olympics hockey game.
Supernatural spent the rest of the day and most of the evening inside Puff dressed as Ian’s Herbal Remedies with Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) spotted on set.
Much much later than scheduled, Supernatural shot the other exterior scene of Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) driving up in the Impala, which was complicated by an unexpected snow flurry.
