Nestor Carbonell was everywhere at San Diego Comic-Con but the biggest news from the Bates Motel panel? Kenny Johnson (Norma’s brother & Dylan’s father) is back as a series regular in season three and joined showrunners Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin and cast Vera Farmiga (Norma Bates), Freddie Highmore (Norman Bates), Olivia Cooke (Emma) and Nestor Carbonell (Sheriff Alex Romero) on the panel plus Kenny Johnson (Caleb) as a surprise guest.

And, as reported earlier, Transformers star Nicola Peltz (Bradley Martin, who faked her own suicide after killing her father’s murderer) will return to White Pine Bay for season three, as well. The video presentation had gag reels like a title sequence with Bates Motel as a sitcom and a mock audition reel for the stars, which you can find exclusively on Entertainment Weekly.

Season 3, expected to start filming this October in Vancouver, will pick up not long after the season two finale which showed Norman (Freddie Highmore) splitting into his mother personality. After killing off most of the bad guys in White Pine Bay, the series will look at whether the town can exist without bad people. Or is it simply a vacuum waiting to be filled? Bates Motel also co-hosted a slamming party at Comic-Con with Playboy.
