Photos by @AlbertCoch. Hitchcockian thriller The 9th Life of Louis Drax started filming today with a shoot at the Vancouver Aquarium. Based on the best-selling novel by Liz Jensen, Louis Drax (Aiden Longworth) is a boy like no other. Every year he almost dies but miraculously survives. On his ninth birthday, he tumbles off a cliff at a picnic with his parents. His father (Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul) disappears. His mother (Sarah Gadon) is traumatized. But Louis is alive, albeit in a deep coma at Dr. Allan Pascal (Fifty Shades of Grey’s Jamie Dornan)’s coma clinic, which will played in part by Coquitlam’s Riverview Hospital. Director Anthony Minghella (The English Patient) optioned the book in 2004 but did not live to see the film go forward. His son Max Minghella has adapted it and Alexandre Aja (Horns) will direct this “psychological journey through the deep recesses of the human mind”.
