Bravo’s hour-long dramedy from showrunner Marti Noxon is a contemporary and fun take on a woman tackling life after divorce with the help of her girlfriends. Based on books by Vicki Iovine, the 13-episode Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce follows best-selling self-help author Abby (House’s Lisa Edelstein), who tries to keep it a secret that she’s separated from her husband (Paul Adelstein), as she navigates her new life in Los Angeles as a single woman in her early forties. Not surprisingly, she finds advice from her divorced friends lawyer Lyla (Janeane Garofalo) and former model Phoebe (Beau Garrett) more relevant than her married ones and that leads to some big changes and apparently some romantic action with a handsome man (Motive’s Warren Christopher) in the series premiere.
GG2D filmed around Vancouver from early June to late October in locations like the Rosewood Georgia Hotel and various night spots like Ginger 62 and with Kitsilano playing residential L.A. neighbourhoods.
