COMIC-CON: SUPERNATURAL’s Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Mark Sheppard & #AlwaysKeepFighting

We will beat this thing [The Darkness] because we’re not the LOSE-chesters – Jared Padalecki.

The Boys Are Back. With The Darkness as the Big Bad. Jensen Ackles told the San Diego Comic Con crowd that season eleven reminds him of season one when the Winchester brothers were united in their search for their father. “One of us isn’t conflicted.” Jared Padalecki said they would beat The Darkness because they’re not the LOSE-chesters and then high-fived Jensen Ackles. Ackles — who’s directing the first filmed episode — gave a shoutout to Vancouver asking how many at Comic Con had been downtown when they fired up the Impala on Thursday night.

Misha Collins’s Castiel will be part of Team Winchester as he has been for eight seasons. One of the moderators compared the Castiel-Dean relationship to Sesame Street’s Bert and Ernie. Collins joked that it’s the height difference between him and Jared Padalecki that keeps a Castiel-Sam thing from happening.

Some fans chastised showrunner Jeremy Carver for killing off fan favourite Charlie Bradbury (Felicia Day) but with Richard Speight Jr. and Rob Benedict moderating the panel had more hijinks than anything else — at one point the hamster came out to question King of Hell Crowley aka Mark Sheppard, who joked it was the best actor he worked with last season.

The Supernatural panel had a candle lit tribute to Jared Padalecki’s #AlwaysKeepFighting campaign about battling through depression. You can see the candles. Back in March, Padalecki revealed that he suffered from depression and had once had a panic attack on set. He began selling shirts with the Always Keep Fighting slogan to “help people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.”

Padalecki still had one in his pocket when he landed at the Vancouver International airport.

Supernatural season eleven started filming July 7th in metro Vancouver and premieres October 7th on The CW.
