The winter survival romance The Mountain Between Us with Kate Winslet and Idris Elba is wrapping soon in British Columbia and today’s sequence seems to be one of the closing scenes of the movie. The Mountain Between Us is adapted from the Charles Martin book. Photojournalist Alex Martin (Winslet) and surgeon Ben Bass (Elba) have never met before, but they have at least one thing in common: both need to get back to Baltimore. She’s getting married the next day; he’s to perform emergency surgery. When their flight out of Denver is cancelled they charter a small plane which crashes on a mountain. How will they survive in freezing temperatures and snow? Both are injured, but Ben is a mountain climber as well as a doctor and struggles to get her down the mountain. Maybe Alex’s marrying the wrong guy?

The Mountain Between Us spent the month of January filming the nountain survival scenes in the Kootenay region of B.C.
And returned to Vancouver this month.
