Johnny Depp is in Vancouver to film Richard Says Goodbye about a dying college professor who binges on every vice. A terminal diagnosis prompts the professor to blow up his staid life and live as freely as possible. Sarcastic, reckless and a touch mad, Richard hurls insults, smokes, drinks, has indiscriminate sex and more fun than he’s had in years.

It’s so unlike Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow Pirate look of late.
For the past two days, Richard Says Goodbye has been filming Johnny Depp’s professor in downtown Vancouver pubs.
Dozens of fans gathered outside the Blackbird Public House in the 900 block of Dunsmuir Street yesterday. Tenting — black cloth which turns day into night — kept Depp out of sight but after a full day of filming he shocked fans by coming out to take photos with each and every one of them.

Today Richard Says Goodbye was a block north at the Butcher & Bullock pub in the 900 block of Pender Street.
Fans gathered again in ever-increasing numbers.

Tomorrow Richard Says Goodbye is expected to hit its third pub in three days — the Bimini Public House in Kitsilano.
Danny Huston, Rosemarie DeWitt, Devon Terrell and Odessa Young co-star.
In real-life Johnny Depp is all over the news again as his former managers expose his extravagent lifestyle in an ongoing court case.
Richard Says Goodbye is filming in Vancouver until August 25th (date subject to change).
