After the tragic death of their mother Marisol, three sisters in a college town are stunned to discover they are witches. Soon this powerful threesome must stand together to fight the everyday and supernatural battles that all modern witches must face: from vanquishing powerful demons to toppling the patriarchy.

Cast: Melonie Diaz, Madeleine Mantock, Sarah Jeffery, Rupert Evans, Ser’Darius Blain.

Macy, Mel and Maggie Vera are similar to Prue, Piper and Phoebe Halliwell from the original CBS Charmed series, but there are modern twists.

Eldest sister Macy (Madeleine Mantock) is a geneticist who discovers she has telekinetic powers.

Middle sister Mel (Melonie Diaz) is a social justice warrior, graduate student in the women’s studies department of Hilltowne University and a lesbian who discovers she can freeze time.

Youngest sister Maggie (Sarah Jeffery) is a fun-loving freshman who discovers she can hear other people’s thoughts.

Their Whitelighter — witch’s advisor and guide — is Harry Greenwood (Rupert Evans), the new chair of the women’s studies department.

From the filming in Vancouver we’ve seen the Vera house is a Victorian in New Westminster and  the fictional college  Hilltowne University is the University of British Columbia.
