REOPENING: David E Kelley’s BIG SKY Series For ABC Shifts Production This Summer to Vancouver From the U.S.

David E. Kelley’s Big Sky series for ABC is moving  production to Vancouver from the United States, amid surges in the Covid-19 pandemic south of the border.

A private detective teams up with an ex-cop to solve a kidnapping case in Montana.

Target filming dates: August 27th – January 13th, 2021 (via DGC-BC Production List).

Cast: Kylie Bunbury, Katheryn Winnick, Ryan Phillippe, John Carroll Lynch, Dedee Pfeiffer, Brian Geraghty, Natalie Alyn Lind, Jesse James Keitel,  Jade Pettyjohn, Valerie Mahaffey.

Private detectives Cassie Dewell (Kylie Bunbury) and Cody Hoyt (Ryan Phillippe) join forces with his estranged wife and ex-cop, Jenny Hoyt (Katheryn Winnick) to search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana. But when they discover that these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, they must race against the clock to stop the killer before another woman is taken. Based on the C.J. Box book The Highway.

Kylie Bunbury is private detective Cassie Dewell.

Ryan Phillippe is private detective Cody Hoyt.

Katheryn Winnick (Vikings) is ex-cop Jenny Hoyt and Cody’s estranged wife.

Natalie Alyn Lind is  Danielle Sullivan, the older of the two kidnapped sisters.

Jade Pettyjohn (Little Fires Everywhere) is Grace Sullivan, the younger of the two kidnapped sisters.

John Carroll Lynch plays the grizzled Montana state trooper Rick Legarski.

Brian Geraghty is Ronald Pergman.

Valerie Mahaffey is Ronald’s mother Helen Pergman.

Jesse James Keitel is Jerrie.

Dedee Pfeiffer (David E. Kelley’s sister-in-law) is  Denise Brisbane.

ABC ordered the series in  February and it will launch on the network in the Fall of 2020.
