Can the rebels take the train with the help of Melanie, the real boss of Snowpiercer? Mr. Wilford, who everyone thought was in charge, was actually left behind seven years ago in Chicago when the Tailies forced their way onto the 1,001-car train as it left the station.

Snowpiercer’s 2-hour season finale airs tonight, July 12th, on TNT and streams Monday on Netflix.

Inspired by Oscar-winner Bong Joon Ho’s futuristic 2013 thriller with Chris Evans, the Snowpiercer series takes place seven years after a post-apocalyptic Ice Age — the Freeze– aboard a perpetually moving train that circles the globe with the rich at the Front and the poor at the Tail end.
In the TNT series, Train managers Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) and Ruth Wardle (Alison Wright) at the Front end recruit former homicide detective Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) from the Tail end to investigate a sadistic murder.
The investigation gives the “Tailie” the means to move between the Classes and access to formerly forbidden areas.
During the investigation, Andre figures out the culprit is in First Class and learns Melanie’s secret — that Mr. Wilford is not aboard and she is the real Boss of the train. For this, she has him drawered.

Snowpiercer season one filmed in Vancouver from August to late December 2018.
Season 2 filmed in Vancouver, starting last Fall and wrapping prematurely on March 12th when the film industry shut down amid coronavirus fears.

Snowpiercer season 2 — which includes Sean Bean as Mr. Wilford– had a week and a half of filming left to do but is expected to fashion a season 2 finale from what they have.
