Wish we were showing you Mars! — Hilary Swank.
One and done. Netflix has decided not to renew mission-to-Mars drama Away with Hilary Swank for season two, leaving us with American astronaut Emma Green and her international crew safely landed on Mars.
In the near future, a team on international astronauts are sent on the first crewed mission to Mars. They hail from the United States, Russia, China, India, and Great Britain. If all goes well, they will be away from the place they call home and the people they love for three years. During this time, their relationships both on Earth and in space will be tested, as they struggle to stay alive and on course.
Starring Hilary Swank as American astronaut Emma Green, Josh Charles as her husband NASA engineer Matt Logan and Talitha Batema as her teenage daughter Alexis.
The cancellation was a surprise since Away seemed popular, appearing in Netflix’s Top Ten rankings (but Netflix counts watching the first two minutes as a view which isn’t a reliable barometer of popularity) and reached No. 2 on Neilsen’s streaming viewership rankings.
