Freeform’s New Mystery Series The Watchful Eye Filming in Vancouver This Spring/Summer

The Nanny meets Hitchcock.

Freeform’s new mystery series The Watchful Eye is filming in Vancouver this Spring/Summer.

Vancouver filming dates: April 26 2022 – August 22 2022.

This contemporary Hitchcockian thriller follows a young woman who cons her way into working as a live-in nanny for an affluent widower in a Manhattan world of old money and deadly secrets.

The Watchful Eye comes from Grace and Frankie showrunner Julie Durk.

The pilot filmed in Chicago last Fall so there may be recasting.

Update: Lead role recast with Mariel Molino taking over from Andrea Londo, who played Elena the nanny in the pilot.

Cast: Mariel Molino, Warren Christie, Kelly Bishop, Amy Acker, Jon-Michael Ecker, Lex Lumpkin, Henry Joseph Samiri, Aliyah Royale

Characters:

Mariel Molino is Elena, the new live-in nanny to a wealthy widower and his young son at the landmark Manhattan apartment building The Greybourne.

Warren Christie is Matttew, the self-made architect and widower recovering from his wife’s recent death.

Kelly Bishop is the wealthy, imperious Mrs. Ivey who rules the roostsand gets her way at The Greybourne.

Amy Acker is Tory, who resented her young sister and now keeps inserting herself into the life of her widower brother-in-law and nephew.

Jon-Michael Ecker is Elena’s boyfriend Scottie, who’s sharper than he looks and plays a long game.

Lex Lumpkin is teenage Elliott, who lives in The Greybourne with his wealthy parents.

Henry Joseph Samiri is Matthew’s son Jasper, who’s still reeling from the recent death of his mother.

Aliyah Royale is another nanny Ginny, working alongside Elena at The Greybourne.
