An Entire Season of Grendel Might Go Unseen
Entire Season of Filmed-in-Vancouver GRENDEL Might Go Unseen After Netflix Rejects Series
Grendel won’t be a one-and-done on Netflix because Netflix won’t even stream season one, filmed in metro Vancouver last Fall and Winter.
Update: Abubakr Ali, Andy Mientus and The Flash’s Grant Gustin expressed how heartbreaking that is for a showrunner, cast and crew.
Abubakr Ali, who starred as the masked vigilante, shared his sorrow on Instagram.
Andy Mientus, who played Larry Stohler on Grendel and Hartley Rathaway/Pied Piper on The Flash, expressed his heartbreak on Instagram. Grant Gustin commiserated — I’m sorry Andy.
Grendel was Netflix’s latest live-action adaption of a Dark Horse comic book series, following on the massive success of The Umbrella Academy.
Grendel follows Hunter Rose (Abubakr Ali), a gifted fencer, writer and assassin, seeking to avenge the death of a lost love. He goes to war with New York’s criminal underworld, only to realize…why beat them, when you can join them?
Episodes: 8.
Showrunner: Andrew Dabb.
Cast: Abubakr Ali, Jaime Ray Newman, Julian Black Antelope, Madeline Zima, Kevin Corrigan, Emma Ho, Erik Palladino, Brittany Allen, Andy Mientus.
