Back to the 1950s For RIVERDALE’s Final Season Filming in Vancouver

Riverdale’s season 7 premiere takes us back to the 1950s, in an episode titled Don’t Worry Darling (a riff on Olivia Wilde’s 1950s-set summer film Don’t Worry Darling with Harry Styles).

Episode 7×02 is titled Skip, Hop and Thump!.

It’s Riverdale’s first dance in the 1950’s, so of course it’s gotta be…a SOCK-HOP!!! 💃🏽🎭🏆🍿🔥🎢💄🍒🐈‍⬛👛🕷️💥🪦☠️ — Roberto Aquirre-Sacasa.

The seventh and final seasonwith Archie and the Gang starts filming mid-October in metro Vancouver.

Filming dates: October 17 2022 – June 23 2023.

In the season 6 finale, everyone in Riverdale survived a comet hurting towards Earth, but Archie and Betty wake up as teenagers in the 1950s. What’s going on?

Jughead seems to be the only one who knows about their life before the timeline changed .

This sets up Riverdale’s final season.

We were debating on what the final beats of [the finale] would be and torn between a very big swing and a quieter ending. And it definitely emboldened us to go for the big swing for Season 7. It’s really exciting. — Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa on the news that season 7 would be Riverdale’s last.

The 1950s is the time period associated with the original Archie Comics.

Riverdale paid homage to the OG comics in its 100th episode, The Jughead Paradox.
