Next Leap on QUANTUM LEAP With Raymond Lee is 1989 San Francisco Earthquake Filmed in Vancouver
The next Leap on NBC’s new Quantum Leap will be the historic 1989 earthquake in San Francisco, featuring scenes that were filmed in Vancouver last Spring as the OG pilot for the series.
Quantum Leap decided to film a new pilot after it moved production from Vancouver to Los Angeles for the series.
Ben Song (Raymond Lee) and A.I. Addison (Caitlin Bassett) find themselves in San Francisco during the historic 1989 earthquake. As the city continues to crumble with aftershocks, Ben must try to mend a family in chaos. Jenn and Ian search for clues to an unsettling mystery.

It’s been nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee), has been assembled to restart the project. Everything changes, however, when Ben makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it.
At Ben’s side throughout his leaps is Addison (Caitlin Bassett), a decorated Army veteran who appears in the form of a hologram only Ben can see and hear. Herbert “Magic” Williams (Ernie Hudson) helms the highly confidential operation whose team at headquarters includes Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park) and Jenn Chou (Nanrisa Lee).

I saw the Quantum Leap pilot filmed here in Vancouver in March, dir. by @helenshaver (’89 SF earthquake scene). What premiered was different, LA-shot, directed by Thor Freudenthal. Now Shaver has been scrubbed from QL’s IMDB page. Anyone know the scoop? @yvrshoots @WhatsFilming pic.twitter.com/Nn9NAWLhED— Doug Sarti (@DougSarti) September 23, 2022
