Inside Calgary’s Northland Village Mall For THE LAST OF US Episode 7

With Joel (Pedro Pascal) on the edge of death in episode seven of The Last of Us , Ellie (Bella Ramsey) is brought back in time to her stint in a FEDRA military school in the Boston Quarantine Zone and the last time she had a deep connection to someone.

That someone was Riley (Storm Reid) who ditched FEDRA to join the rebel Fireflies. Before Riley leaves Boston, she takes Ellie on a night of wonders at an abandoned mall to show her love for her friend.

This episode was filmed almost entirely in Calgary’s Northland Village Mall after it closed in December 2021, according to Travel Alberta. Crew had a month to give the mall a The Last of Us makeover before filming began.
