Alberta’s Okotoks & Waterton Lakes as Silver Lake in THE LAST OF US Episode 8

Waterton Lakes National Park.

We think of it as our cold episode. That one was really cold ….and it needed to be — showrunner Craig Maizin.

Alberta’s Okotoks & Waterton Lakes as Silver Lake in THE LAST OF US Episode 8

With Joel (Pedro Pascal) still on the edge of death in episode eight of The Last of Us , Ellie (Bella Ramsey) has to survive on her own. She shoots a deer but is then captured by David (Scott Shepherd) and his cult of cannibals and taken to Silver Lake where it seems hopeless.

In Calgary in February. It was freezing obviously. And I was also holding a freaking rifle — Bella Ramsey.

We expect Joel to come to Ellie’s rescue.

There were three or four house-sized wind machines.that just pummelled me with snow. Yeah so that was hard (laughing)- Pedro Pascal.

But in the end the only person who can save Ellie is Ellie and her”violent heart”.

Reunion.

Most of episode 8 was filmed in the town of Okotoks in the Alberta foothills and at Waterton Lakes National Park in the south via Travel Alberta.

Fictional Silver Lake.

Okotoks, Alberta.

Waterton Lakes National Park, Alberta (where I’ve camped but not in extreme cold) .
