LUCKY HANK Finale With Bob Odenkirk & Mireille Enos in Downtown Vancouver

In the Lucky Hank season finale, Hank resigns from Railton College and unexpectedly joins his wife Lily in her studio New York apartment, filmed in downtown Vancouver.

Is she happy to see him? Yes and no.

Lucky Hank is an eight episode mid-life crisis tale told in the first person by William Henry Devereaux, Jr. (Bob Odenkirk), the unlikely chairman of the English department in a badly underfunded college in the Pennsylvania rust belt.

The Chopping Block opens with Lily getting ready to move to New York for her new job and Hank under pressure from Railton College President Dickie Pope (Kyle Maclachlan) to fire professors from his English department.

With help from his best friend Tony Conigula (Diedrich Bader), Hank discovers Pope’s secret agenda, exposes him for corruption and doesn’t have to fire anyone.

Who’s ready to party?

Lucky Hank’s finale left it open for a second season if it gets a renewal from AMC.

Lily’s studio New York apartment apartment looks too small for two of them and Dean Rose shreds Hank’s resignation letter in the final scene, so there’s a path for Hank to end up back at Railton College.

Lucky Hank is adapted from the Richard Russo novel Straight Man.

Showrunners: Paul Lieberstein (The Office), Aaron Zelman (The Killing).

Cast: Bob Odenkirk, Mireille Enos, Olivia Scott Welch, Diedrich Bader, Sara Amini, Cedric Yarbrough, Suzanne Cryer.

Recurring guest stars: Oscar Nunez, Tom Bower, Kyle Maclachlan, Chris Diamantopoulos, Nancy Robertson.

Lucky Hank filmed last Fall in metro Vancouver under the working title Straight Man, with the University of British Columbia subbing in as Pennsylvania’s Railton College.
