Vancouver-Shot Series THE IRRATIONAL With Jesse L. Martin on NBC This Fall
New Vancouver-shot investigative thriller The Irrational, starring Jesse L. Martin, will air Monday nights after The Voice this Fall on NBC.
Alec Mercer (Jesse L Martin). a world-renowned professor of behavioral science, lends his expertise to an array of high-stakes cases involving governments, law enforcement, and corporations with his unique and unexpected approach to understanding human behavior.
Production on The Irrational started early this Spring to get ahead of an expected Writers Guild of America strike and continues until early summer with so-called “locked scripts”, although that may change.
Vancouver filming dates March 21 2023 – July 06 2023.
Whatever happens, The Irrational and other NBC shows, Quantum Leap, Night Court and Found have completed enough episodes to be on the Fall schedule even if there’s an extended strike “because we’re now in continuous production mode”, NBCUniversal exec Jeff Bader told Deadline: Hollywood.
Jesse L. Martin has already spent nine seasons filming in Vancouver as Barry Allen’s foster father and then father-in-law Joe West on The Flash.

Jesse L. Martin is a behavioural science professor Alec Mercer who works on cases with governments & corporations.
Maahra Hill is FBI agent Marisa, who finds herself teaming up with Alec on cases.
Travina Springer is Alec’s younger sister Kylie.
Molly Kunz is Alec’s protege Phoebe, pursing her master’s degree in psychology.
Arash DeMaxi is psychology grad student Owen.
