THE GOOD DOCTOR With Freddie Highmore To End With 7 Seasons of Filming in Vancouver

With love from Vancouver… tequila, stat! — Freddie Highmore in the director’s chair for a season 7 episode.

Long-running ABC medical drama The Good Doctor, starring Freddie Highmore as the brilliant, autistic Dr. Shaun Murphy, will come to an end with season 7.

Playing Dr. Shaun Murphy has been an immense privilege and one of the most remarkable and rewarding experiences of my life. I will always be grateful to David [Shore], Liz, [Friedman} and Erin [Gunn] as well as the hugely talented — and lovely — cast, writers, and crew who made this show possible.

Caring deeply is what got us here. Thank you to Sony and ABC, and to everyone who has watched along at home. With love from Vancouver… tequila, stat!Freddie Highmore to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Farewell Season:

Where did we leave The Good Doctor in season 6?

Freddie Highmore’s Dr. Shaun Murphy and Paige Spara’s Lea Dilallo welcomed their son Steven Aaron Murphy in the season 6 finale.

The baby boy was named after Shaun’s late brother Steve and Shaun’s father figure Dr. Aaron Glassman (Richard Schiff).

After a long delay due to Hollywood work stoppages, The Good Doctor started filming the season 7 premiere titled Baby, Baby, Baby on December 6th.
